The current Leisure Living was originally established by Richard Gerspach in 1958 as a swimming pool installation, service and repair company and continues today as a 2nd generation family owned and operated business.
Originally named Island Pools, this nationwide distribution facility has expanded into a warehouse and office complex of over 245,000 sq ft.
The focus of the company has changed over the years to include becoming the largest independent source of parts to fit Kayak Pools®, manufacturer of parts for the solar deck heated Fanta-Sea pools, a widely distributed 60 page color catalog along with a prominent position on numerous web sites (www.poolsupplies.com).
In 2001 Island Pools acquired Leisure Living, a prominent catalog and internet company located in Pennsylvania. This acquisition put Island Pools on the map as one of the fastest growing companies in the pool and spa industry. Due to the popularity of the Leisure Living brand name and catalog as well as expansion into all backyard items, Island Pools changed its official name to Leisure Living.
In 2003 Richard passed away after a battle with cancer. The legacy of what he started many years ago burns in the heart of his son Paul. Under Paul's direction, Leisure Living is one of the most successful multi-channel retailers in the swimming pool and spa industry. With over a 245,000 sq ft warehouse and office complex, a mail-order catalog and a high-profile internet site (www.PoolSupplies.com), Leisure Living continues its customer-focused growth.
