The current Leisure Living was originally established by Richard Gerspach in 1958 as a swimming pool installation, service and repair company and continues today as a 2nd generation family owned and operated business.

Originally named Island Pools, this retail outlet has expanded over the last 49 years to two locations comprised of over 100,000 square feet of warehouse and showroom space.

The focus of the company has changed over the years to include becoming the largest independent source of parts to fit Kayak Pools®, manufacturer of the patented solar deck heated Fanta-Sea pools, a widely distributed 60 page color catalog along with a prominent position on numerous web sites. In 2001 Island Pools acquired Leisure Living, a prominent catalog and Internet company located in Pennsylvania. This put Island Pools on the map as one of the fastest growing companies in the pool and spa industry. Due to the popularity of the Leisure Living brand name and catalog as well as expansion into all backyard related items, Island Pools changed its official name to Leisure Living.

In 2003 Richard passed away after a battle with cancer. The legacy of what he started 49 years ago burns hot in the heart of his son Paul. Under his direction Leisure Living is one of the most successful multi-channel retailers in the swimming pool and spa industry. With a retail store and 160,000 sq. ft. warehouse, a manufacturing concern, a mail-order catalog and high-profile Internet site (www.poolsupplies.com) Leisure Living continues its customer-focused growth.
