Works as advertised so far. While the pool has not yet frozen, this item seems to allow ice expansion and ought to prevent ice from damaging the skimmer. O

This is a great product. It's very easy to install and does exactly what is advertised. I haven't seen a single drop of water coming out of the skimmer.
